We're Thankful for Family and Chelsea's Cooking

This was our first Thanksgiving as the Chong ohana. We were fortunate enough to have Jason's sister and her family come down from Boise to celebrate with us. And it was a good thing they did. Chelsea, Jason's sister, is a wonderful cook and she prepared the entire dinner with little help from anyone else. Jason just looks like he gets credit for carving the bird. The dinner was so good that this was the only picture snapped before it was devoured.

The cousins got to play with one another. Mikaela and Leah are just 6 months apart and are good friends. Mikaela does get frustrated sometimes with Leah as she can't communicate as well as she can. And they both get frustrated when the other doesn't share. It provides for lots of laughs and opportunities to parent.

Chris, Chelsea's husband, had never been to Temple Square. With the holiday here the Temple was decorated with Christmas lights. We couldn't think of a better time to visit. So we bundled everyone up this chilly night and after driving around the square a few times we found parking a few blocks away and hiked.

It's too bad that our family isn't closer to us. We love them so much and every time we get together we have a blast. We're looking forward to Christmas when we get to see them again as we travel through Boise to Oregon and then after the holiday for a few days.

Here's Mikaela and Leah racing on their fathers' laps. Listen to how Mikaela declares herself the winner:
