Jason and Carissa met in the Kiser barn the first Friday of October 2006 in McMinnville, OR. It was love at first sight. Maybe it was crush at first sight. Either way Jason, prompted to make a move, failed to do so. In humble supplication he asked for another opportunity to see the girl who took his breath away, promising to act if this prayer was answered. His prayer was answered and she found her way to the Kiser home the very next day. Jason, committed to make good on his promise to God, failed to talk to her again. Instead, he wrote down his contact information and gave it to Beccy Kiser to give to Carissa. As fate would have it, the messenger delivered and Carissa responded. This began a tumultuous courtship which resulted in several frequent flier miles, a ridiculous amount of cell phone minutes used, an absurd amount of debt, but also a love that just continued to grow and mature until we were eventually sealed forever as a family in the Oregon Portland temple. We have one daughter, Leah who is an incredible blessing who teaches us just as much if not more than we teach her.
